Founder & Curator

I didn't create Brown Girl Lit & Love because I wanted another book club.

I created it because I wanted the kind of space I couldn't find—a place where Black women could slow down, laugh freely, read stories that reflected us, and build genuine friendships beyond the pages of a book.

As an educator, author, and lifelong reader, books have always been at the center of my life. They've challenged me, comforted me, and reminded me of the power our stories hold. Brown Girl Lit & Love grew from that belief—that Black women deserve spaces where our stories are celebrated just as much as we are.

From coffee meetups and audiobook walks to poolside book discussions, literary retreats, and unforgettable experiences, every gathering is thoughtfully curated with connection, intention, and joy at its heart.

My hope is that every woman who joins Brown Girl Lit & Love leaves feeling seen, inspired, and part of something bigger than a book club—a true sisterhood.

Welcome. I'm so glad you're here.
